Statement of purpose: 
The Northern Tioga Chamber of Commerce has established a scholarship program administered through the Northern Tioga Chamber Scholarship Fund. The goal is to assist a Newark Valley area high school senior who has been accepted and will be attending a school of higher education or pursuing a trade in the fall immediately following their high school graduation.

Qualification: 
All candidates are judged on their merit. Primary consideration is given to individuals who have demonstrated leadership, citizenship, and involvement in school and community activities. There must be evidence of a strong desire to succeed.

Giving of the Scholarship Awards: 
A committee comprised of five Northern Tioga Chamber board members will select and submit to the chamber board for approval the (2) $400.00 award recipients. The winners will be announced at the school’s annual awards ceremony.

Application Requirements:

• These vary depending on which scholarship you are applying for. Please read through all the requirements prior to submission.

Procedures and Guidelines:

• The NV school will publicize scholarship announcement and availability.
• Applicant is responsible for timely completion of all requirements.
• Incomplete applications or applications submitted after the deadline will be disqualified.
• Completed applications should be submitted to the Northern Tioga Chamber Scholarship Committee to PO Box 295, Newark Valley, NY 13811 by the due date above. Scanned documents sent via email are also accepted. Send to [email protected].   
• The Scholarship Committee will interview all applicants before deciding  which applicant will receive the award.
• The Northern Tioga Chamber Scholarship Committee will announce the award and it will be given at the school’s annual awards ceremony.
